Happy New Year and welcome to 2022. As I reflect on this past year with Special Needs Tutors, I am humbled by the faith and the trust that each parent has put in this company as we have partnered together to guide, instruct, and support each learner. It has truly been a blessing, not only to this company, but to each family as well.
Just to give a brief recap from this past year, Special Needs Tutors was launched in December of 2020. Throughout 2021, we have experienced consistent growth with our tutoring team, our sales team, and most importantly our families. Our families are given the academic support they need that encourage, boost confidence, and guide their child or loved one. This is a whole family approach to education and makes the learning process even more valuable.
So, what sets our tutoring company apart from other establishments? We are data driven and we make that data available to parents so that they can see the struggle areas, the growth, and skills that continue to need weekly support. The data not only shows past and current progress, but it helps the tutor to instruct more effectively and make an even greater impact tomorrow. In other words, if the data demonstrates a slide in a specific skill, the tutor can identify what area to re-teach or what area needs on-going support. Or if mastery has been demonstrated, the tutor can move on to the next skill level in that subject area. The goal is to continue growing and take the student beyond what was expected.
Additionally, we have overcome the uncertainty of school closures by using our live, virtual platform. Our families have seen the convenience of tutoring virtually, simply because they can tutor from home, or on the go. There is no rushing through traffic or sitting in boring lobby’s waiting on their turn. Our tutors are assessable on your time, your schedule and that makes for a happy environment.
What sets our tutors apart from other tutors? We at Special Needs Tutors only hire state, credentialed teachers in special education who have years of classroom teaching experience in the areas of reading, writing, math, and life/employment skills. Our tutors are trained to teach virtually and utilize technology to make learning unique, fun, and effective. Most of our tutors have a master’s degree in special education, hold additional certifications in reading and math apart from their state credentialing giving them unparalleled knowledge to help a variety of learners.
During our growth this year, we as a company have seen the need for better client experiences. Parents need to be up to date on their next tutoring sessions, need to know how much money they have left in their tutoring cycle or perhaps they need to reschedule at the last minute. Special Needs Tutors has found a solution for these simple requests. In Quarter 2 of 2022, we are launching our new Student Dashboard. This is where parents will have full access and full oversight regarding their child’s tutoring experience. They will see the dates for each session, be able to request additional tutoring, reschedule current sessions, make payments, see previous payments, see data provided by the tutor, all from their computer. This will make the tutoring process smooth and informative.
In addition to our family and tutor growth, we have incorporated a sales team to Special Needs Tutors. This team of individuals helps our company expand into schools across the country and other tutoring companies who do not have access to special education tutors. Not only can we assist learners for after school tutoring, but we can reach learners in the classroom that need additional support during the school day. Many schools do not have the resources to fund a special education program, and that is where we come in to provide those additional skill building supports through an individualized approach virtually.
Lastly, Special Needs Tutors will be represented at many special education conferences around the United States in 2022. Our aspiration is to connect with families, answer questions, and raise awareness for this community. If you attend a conference and see our booth, come say hello. Our aim is to become the number one live, virtual tutoring company for learners with special needs. Serving our community is a priority and making the experience extraordinary is the goal.
